Privacy Policy

Adless collects nothing automatically. There is no analytics, no advertising identifier and no crash reporting. Two features can send data, both are off until you use them, and both are described below: encrypted backup, and problem reports you write and send yourself.
What Adless is
Adless is a media player for IPTV playlists that you supply. It contains no channels, no streams and no content of its own, and it is not affiliated with any content provider or IPTV service.
What Adless collects automatically
None. The app has no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no crash reporting SDK. The permission that grants access to the Android advertising identifier is blocked in the app manifest, so no component of the app or its dependencies can read one. Nothing is uploaded in the background, on a crash, or on a schedule.
Data you can choose to send
Two features send data, and neither does anything until you use it.
- Backup and sync (optional). If you turn it on, your playlists, favourites, groups and settings are stored on the Adless server encrypted on your device with a key derived from a recovery code that is shown to you once and never sent. The server holds ciphertext, an account identifier derived from that same code, and nothing else. Adless cannot decrypt it, and cannot be compelled to, because the key does not exist outside your devices. Losing the recovery code loses the backup; there is no reset. The feature can be turned off, and the stored copy deleted, from Settings.
- Problem reports (optional). Settings has a "Report a problem" screen that shows you the exact report before you send it: the app version, the Android version and device model, your playback settings, the last errors the app recorded, and anything you type. Stream addresses are removed before an error is written down, because for many providers the address is the password. A report contains no name, no email address and no identifier for your device or install, so two reports from the same phone cannot be connected to each other, and none of them can be connected to you. Nothing is sent until you press Send. Reports are kept for at most 90 days.
Data stored on your device
All of the following is written only to storage on the device running the app:
- The playlists you add, and the channels, films and series they contain.
- Provider usernames and passwords, stored in the Android keystore. They are not written to the app database, are not included in any log, and are sent only to the provider you entered them for.
- Favourites, custom groups, hidden and renamed channels, and your channel order.
- Watch history and playback position.
- Downloaded programme guide data.
- App settings, including any parental PIN.
Uninstalling the app removes all of it. Settings contains a "Clear all data" action that does the same without uninstalling.
Network connections the app makes
Adless connects to four kinds of destination and no others:
- Your IPTV provider, at the address you entered, to load your playlist and play streams.
- The programme guide address that your playlist advertises or that you set yourself, to download the guide file.
- Google Play and RevenueCat, to check whether your subscription is active.
- api.adlessplayer.com, the Adless server, and only for the two optional features above: an encrypted backup you turned on, or a report you pressed Send on. With neither in use the app never contacts it.
Subscriptions
Billing is handled by Google Play. Payment details are never seen by the app or by Adless. Subscription status is checked through RevenueCat, which acts as a processor for that check and receives an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase status and basic device and country information. It does not receive your playlists, your credentials or anything about what you watch. RevenueCat's own privacy policy governs that processing.
Permissions
- Internet and network state - to reach your provider and play video.
- Wake lock - so playback is not interrupted by the screen timeout.
- Camera - requested only at the moment you open the QR scanner to import a playlist link, and never at launch. Camera frames are decoded on the device and are not stored or transmitted.
Children
Adless is a general-purpose media player and is not directed at children. It includes a parental PIN that can lock groups and individual channels, but what the app can play is decided entirely by the playlist you supply.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the Turkish KVKK and comparable laws you have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. Adless holds nothing about you unless you sent it: an encrypted backup, readable only with your recovery code, and any problem report you pressed Send on. There is nothing else to disclose, correct or delete on request. Data on your device is under your control and is removed by uninstalling the app or by using "Clear all data". If you turned on backup, deleting it from Settings removes the stored copy from the server. A problem report cannot be withdrawn by request, because it carries nothing that identifies which report is yours - quote the reference code the app showed you after sending and it can be deleted by that.
Content you add
You are responsible for the playlists and streams you add to Adless and for complying with the law and with your provider's terms. Adless does not supply, host, index or endorse any stream.
Changes
If a future version of the app collects anything, this policy will be updated before that version is published, and the change will be described here rather than only reflected in the date.
